Agriculture is a feasible industry.Ourcountry is wide, located in the temperate and subtropical zones, natural disasters havebecome the inevitable big risks in the process of agricultural production in ourcountry. Drought, waterlog, frost, and the common natural disasters like typhoon,rainstorm, have brought immeasurable losses on agricultural production. In additionto these natural disasters, diseases, market risks and some social risks restrict theagricultural development. Agricultural insurance is a very useful manner to distributerisks and decrease the loss.Agricultural insurance has existed since the domestic time of our country,experienced roughly pilot, rapid development, consolidation and contraction, open upagain after reform, policy agricultural insurance phase with the support of government.Partial provinces and cities began to implement the policy-oriented agriculturalinsurance since2004. The guarantee target include the wheat, rice, corn, expanding tobreeding and forest. Because agriculture is complex, agricultural insurance facesmany problems in the process of its development.So The policy-oriented agriculturalinsurance must innovate its products.The main contents of this paper is research on the product innovation of thepolicy-oriented agricultural insurance in our country.It is divided into the followingparts: the first part, case introduction, this article selects2013live pig price indexinsurance in Beijing as a case; The second part, case analysis, analyze the effects andinnovation of the live pig price index insurance; The third part, the analysis of thenecessity of policy-oriented agricultural insurance product innovation and theobstacles to innovate product, introduce the present situation and problems of thepolicy-oriented agricultural insurance in our country, and conclude that China’spolicy-oriented agricultural insurance must innovate product, and then introduce theexisted innovative products of policy-oriented agricultural insurance,find obstacles inin the product innovation; The fourth part, weather index insurance experience inforeign country, introduce the innovation products of the policy-oriented agriculturalinsurance-weather index insurance carried in Mexico,India,Ethiopia,and then combine with China’s conditions, draw revelation on our country; The fifth part, the suggestionsto the product innovation of policy-oriented agricultural insurance, according to thesituation of our country, propose the suggestions to the product innovation ofpolicy-oriented agricultural insurance,expect to help the policy-oriented agriculturalinsurance develop fast and healthily.
