In the field of organization and management, leadership effectiveness is always a subjectconcerned.On the other side, the loyalty to supervisor is more and more important too, especiallythe loyalty plays an important role in Chinese enterprise.In recent years the authoritarian issues arequite important and there are more and more related studies about the impact between authoritarianleadership and employee effectiveness. However, relatively some studies have tested how and whyauthoritarian leadership relates to the loyalty to supervisor, this research extends the research ofauthoritarian leadership to be consisted with social exchange and social learning.We examinedleader-member exchange(LMX),trust in supervisor and discussed the impact between authoritarianleadership and the loyalty to supervisor.In the past, most researches on authoritarian leadership are based on Western, but theresearches are based on Chinese now.And Topics on loyalty to supervisor are also focused bydomestic and foreign scholars.The researches on LMX and trust in supervisor occupy a lot.The study include three phases:First, we carefully reviewed the literatures about theseconcepts, and advanced the construct model of study, basing on it, we produced a set of hypotheses;then, we conducted a questionnaire research, and collected the data for further analysis from theemployees of organizations of different industries and different ownerships in the cities of Shanghai,Beijing, Shenzhen and Changchun,our target is Chinese enterprises, and we collected data resultsfrom151valid questionnaires.Finally, we used the regression equation to analyze the data wecollected.The outcome mainly proved our proposition.Reports:Firstly, authoritarian leadership is a common phenomenon in China.It significantly andnegatively related to loyalty to supervisor.Secondly, LMX and trust in supervisor significantly related to the loyalty to supervisor.LMXand trust in supervisor significantly mediated between authoritarian leadership and loyalty tosupervisor.Thirdly, two variables including LMX and trust in supervisor are partially mediated betweenauthoritarian leadership and loyalty to supervisor.Finally, we discussed the results according to this study to indicate the limits and innovation ofthe study,and suggested the way of development in the future.
