| Urbanization is not only the vital symbol of regional economic development and socialprogress, but also the inevitable trend of human economic and social development, so it hasbecome the basis of making regional development policies of a country or a region.This paper, synthetically using theories and methods of the humanities-economicgeography,85counties of Liaoning Province as the basic object of study, analyzes theregional difference characters of urbanization level and the influencing factors by the methodsof combination of theoretical analysis and empirical research as well as combiningquantitative analysis and qualitative analysis through comprehensive measure of eachcounty urbanization development leve from15indexes that are selected in four aspectsincluding the economic development, population, social development and urban construction.Followings are the conclusions from the analysis.（1）It is concluded that the county urbanization level of the regional difference is notlittle in Liaoning Province by using principal component analysis and clustering analysis.Highest and higher levels of urbanization areas are mainly distributed in the central plains andsouthern coastal areas of Liaoning Province while the low and medium levels of urbanizationareas are mainly concentrated in the eastern part and west mountain regions of LiaoningProvince.（2）Factors that influence the urbanization development level are including naturalresources, geographical location, economic development conditions, historical conditions andpolicy conditions, etc. Among them, the conclusion comes to that the influence of economicdevelopment factors are the most prominent for urbanization development level.（3）Based on the analysis of the impact factors, regional differences and theurbanization development level of Liaoning Province, the corresponding countermeasures andsuggestions are put forward. In advancing the process of county urbanization in LiaoningProvince, fristly, it is first thing to unify cognition and identify strategic focus. secondly,developing county economy is of the essence as long as the county urbanization level desiresto be improved speedily for the level of economic development is the strong support ofurbanization development. thirdly, to focus on developing the regional central city isconsequent to exert its radiation to surrounding areas in the process of the development ofurbanization. Fourthly, the support of backward county should be enhanced extremely inorder to improve the overall standard of county urbanization in Liaoning Province. |
