Sine the customer demand have become more personalized and diversified, mass production mode has been gradually replaced by mass customization and become an irresistible trend of development. Postponement strategy as an effective strategy to implement mass customization can be produced and developed also, it is by postponing the customized activities in time and space to realize the demand for products and services, the key to implement the postponement strategy is the establishment of customer order decoupling point. Therefore, the positioning of customer order decoupling point and optimization of postponement system not only provides theoretical support for mass customization but also has practical significance to management. At present, the research of domestic and foreign scholars mostly focused in single customer order decoupling point and the effect to various production cost, less studied the expansion problem of multi customer order decoupling point. To deal with production cost optimization problem of postponement system based on various situation of customer order decoupling point, the paper discusses different production mode and a basic model of production cost optimization is proposed to study the optimal positioning of customer order decoupling point.First, the paper discusses production mode(MTS、ATO、MTO、ETO) and supply chain model(rigid, postponed, modularized and flexible) based on the cost and customization level. Mainly analyzes the correspondence connection between them, studies their matching model and gets four matching models:Rigid MTS, the combination of MTS and rigid supply chain; Modularized ATO, the combination of ATO and modularized supply chain; Postponed MTO, the combination of MTO and postponed supply chain; Flexible ETO, the combination of ETO and flexible supply chain. This has a certain reference significance for the enterprises to make correct choice of supply chain in many internal and external environmental.Second, a basic model of production cost optimization and its M/M/l extended model are proposed in mass customization in which the manufacturing costs, semi-finished inventory costs and customer lead time are considered to study and analyze changes in production costs and optimal positioning of the customer order decoupling point, it reveals that with the average inventory cost, the average customer waiting cost increasing, the average manufacturing cost in first mass customization stage increasing and in second customized production decreasing, customer order decoupling point Continues to move backwards. At this time, manufacturers are more likely to choose postponement strategy to reduce semi-finished inventory costs and customer waiting costs, manufacturing costs and total cost of production.At last, the optimal positioning of customer order decoupling point under the four kinds of production mode are verified by assigning average manufacturing costs, results are consistent with the simulation analysis which enable enterprises to make suitable production mode and optimal customer order decoupling point according to their own product characteristics.
