In recent years, attaching great importance to transformation of the shanty towns, thecentral and local government has issued a series of supporting policies and mobilizes thewhole society to participate actively in the transformation of the shanty towns. As animportant measure to improve the livelihood of the people, the implementation of theshanty town transformation is of great significance to expedite the settlement oflow-income housing difficulties of the masses, improve the housing securitysystem, improve the living environment, improve the city grade, close relationshipbetween the party and the masses of the people and enhance the people’s crowd cohesionand centripetal force. In2010, the Urumqi city plans to spend5years and invest30billionYuan in renovating and improving234shantytowns project.5years later, it is about200000people who will move into new home with bright windows and clean tables, perfectfacilities, starting a new life.After consulting those documents and literatures of the Office of Urumqi ShantytownsTransformation Work Leading Group, having on-the-spot investigation of ShantytownsTransformation projects, such as Heijia mountain and Ba Haer Road of Tianshan District,Qingfeng Road of Shaybak District, Trade Leather Factory of Hebei Road of New CityDistrict, Urumqi mining of Shuimogou District, knowing about three kinds of differenttypes of Shantytowns Transformation-the government investment projects, enterpriseself-developed projects and state-owned mining projects and conducting the analysis andresearch, the thesis was made.
