With the development of economy and society, the existing corporate financial reports systems which are measured by money and income cannot meet the requirements of corporate information disclosure. Social responsibility report, a carrier of the corporate-social-responsibility (CSR) information disclosure, is used to reflect the status of the corporate to fulfill social responsibility. Different industries have different requests of the social responsibility and practice. Therefore, it is necessary to take the industry’s own characteristics into CSR’s consider. Only in this way can we understand the fulfillment and disclosure levels of industry’s CSR, thus improving the level of the CSR practice and putting forward targeted recommendations.Food industry is very important in social industry. Food quality affects people’s life safety and health. However, food safety problems, which happened frequently in recent years, are not only a serious impediment to the development of the industry, but also triggering an unprecedented crisis of confidence. The dishonest and the contempt of CSR is the root causes of these problems. Therefore, the social responsibility which should be borne by the corporation is paid universal attention. In terms of information disclosure, social responsibility report discloses information about food safety and quality. It can promote the corporation to attach great importance to the CSR management and sustainable development ability, thus restoring the public trust.Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchange have issued policy documents encouraging corporations to establish the CSR report voluntarily. As a result, the number of corporations which disclose CSR information increases rapidly. However, the fulfillment condition of food industry is still not optimistic. In2012, only30corporations of the94listed companies in the sector released CSR reports. Therefore, the study of the CSR report of the listed companies in food industry and the summary for the present situation and characteristics of CSR information disclosure not only can help the food industry improve performance in CSR, but also make them easier to be supervised by external regulators and stakeholders.This paper makes further study of the present situation of the CSR information disclosure of listed companies from the food and beverage industry and points out that its loss and deficiency in the performance of CSR by using the descriptive statistics, content analysis, index analysis tools. The purpose of this paper is to cause the attention of stakeholders and regulators. Moreover, in the consideration of the characteristics of the food and beverage industry, this paper proposes suggestions which can solve the problem of food safety more or less.This paper is divided into seven chapters. The first chapter is introduces the background and significance of this research and the article thought. The second chapter is the literature review. It summarizes the research at home and abroad which related to the CSR information disclosure. The third chapter is the theoretical basis. It introduces the CSR information disclosure’s generation and development and clears the theoretical basis of this paper. Descriptive statistics methods have been used in the fourth chapter. Based on96social responsibility reports from in China’s food and beverage industry, it makes longitudinal analysis in accordance with the time development and reflects the current fulfillment conditions of the CSR information of food and beverage industry. The fifth chapter is the analysis of the content of the food and beverage industry’s CSR information disclosure. It uses index analysis method to score30social responsibility reports from food and beverage industry listed companies in2012. Chapter Six is for the case study. It set ShuangHui as a case study object and analyzes its social responsibility reports from2008to2012according to the system set in the fourth and fifth chapters. It sums up the personality characteristics of CSR information disclosure of ShuangHui-which reflects the characteristics of the industry lastly. Chapter Seven is the conclusion and prospect part. It summaries the shortage of the CSR information disclosure of listed companies and put forwards some suggestions. Finally it points out shortages of this paper and the direction of the future studies. The major contribution of this paper is:1. This paper sets the listed companies from food and beverage industry inour country as the research object. It analyzes the fulfillment conditions of social responsibility information disclosure of listed companies from the industry and sums up the social responsibility information disclosure in the current condition.2. By using the evaluation index system in the content study of the food and beverage industry, it can provide a better description of the current CSR information disclosure’s fulfillment of the food and beverage industry in our country and which will assist the future research3. The conclusions and results of this paper can provide theoretical basis for policy makers and regulators.The main deficiency of this paper is:1. This paper only takes the listed companies into account and does not consider some private companies which are with very characteristic in the fulfillment of CSR, such as typical family enterprise-Lee Kum Kee, and WuHan Black Duck which is preparing for lifting recently. Therefore, the conclusion which may act as a guidance for the industry is not that perfect2. The number of the CSR report of the food and beverage industry is too little to ensure the veracity of the research.3. There is not official basis when designing the scoring system and thus existing subjectivity, which may lead to a certain error to the final results.
