Main ContentsThis paper first analyzes the international trend:the electric car is replacing fuel vehicles, and then, the paper conduct in-depth analysis in the electric car industry from both objective and subjective perspectives to conclude that the demand will explode in next few years. From the subjective aspect, at this stage with respect to the purchase of electric vehicles the purchase of fuel vehicles has a cost advantage; from the objective aspect, the present stage of favorable government policies, as well as the potential power of a continuing government subsidies for new energy automotive industry.At the last of the second part, the paper analyzes the current situation of China’s electric vehicle industry, and points out the unique value of B YD Auto in relative to that of the other vendors. In the third part, the article analyzes and compares the investment opportunities in all components of the electric vehicle chain under the background of the demand for electric vehicles. And the paper points out that the lithium-ion battery chain has played the most important part and has the greatest future value.In the fourth part, the article analyzes comprehensively the lithium-ion battery chain from upstream to downstream and reaches the conclusion:Among all the critical components, cathode materials and electrolyte have the most future growth and future value. In the end, the article points out two investment risks:Firstly, the public acceptance of the reality of pure electric vehicles is uncertain; secondly, the duration of the government subsidy-policy is uncertain.Creative PointsFirstly, previous studies have focused on the qualitative analysis of the political impact of the electric car industry, and comparatively, this paper highlights the intensity and persistence of the government policy. To further tackle this problem, this paper analyzes quantitatively the energy saving income of the country in supporting clear-energy vehicles. And by contrast, the article compares energy saving income in solar heat power plant to conclude that the government has the potential to continue subsidy-policy in clear-energy car industry.Secondly, previous studies rarely consider "waiting time","license" and other "hidden costs" in the cost analysis of electric vehicles compared to conventional fuel vehicles. However, this paper not only emphasizes all the hidden costs, but also calculates the "hidden cost" of the electric cars and the fuel cars, and conducts detailed comparative analysis.
