After the mid-1980s to establish basic household contract responsibility system,farmers in China’s southeast coastal areas to facilitate the sale of crops, the firstself-organized farmer cooperatives established with mutual nature. Began in the late1990s,governments at all levels to support the development of cooperatives has taken encouragingattitude, and promote the further development of cooperatives." Farmer Cooperatives Act"enacted July1,2007implementation, marking China ’s farmer cooperatives have entered anew period of development, all kinds of surge in the number of cooperatives, covering allareas of agricultural production. Many scholars believe that cooperatives can improve thedegree of organization of farmers, strengthen the bargaining position of farmers in themarket, achieve economies of scale, etc., and thus the cooperative is to achieve agriculturalmodernization, an effective way to promote farmers’ income. However, our farmercooperatives in the rapid development has also exposed many problems, such as too small,weak services, lack of development potential issues such as income scholars have questionedthe effectiveness of cooperatives. But there are few studies involving cooperative research onfarmers’ income effect problem, although a small amount of literature referred to this problem,but not in-depth empirical analysis remained mostly theoretical explanations levels. Thismakes reliable and convincing conclusion compromised.For lack of existing research, this paper selects the380households in Yangling Districtof Shaanxi Province as samples, based on the existing research results systematicallycombing the theoretically clarify the mechanism of farmers ’ income to promote cooperatives,and then use the survey data, using statistical analysis and Probit models, quantitativeanalysis of the impact of farmer cooperatives effect on farmers ’ income. The empiricalresults show: the average income of farmers join significantly higher than the average incomeof farmers not join a company, the gap between the two has statistically significant;cooperatives promoting effect on farmers ’ income and rural households own level of humancapital, farmers agricultural specialization level and is closely related to farmers ’cooperatives own normative, higher levels of human capital and the degree of agricultural specializationfarmers, cooperatives run more standardized, its effect on farmers ’ income, the moreobvious. Finally, based on the conclusions put forward the corresponding policyrecommendations: increase the targeted members of cooperatives; take various measures toimprove the human capital level of agricultural producers; improve cooperative systemcharter, to promote the development of cooperatives to achieve standardization; guide theregulation is too small cooperatives reorganized, moderately increase the size ofcooperatives, to enhance its service capabilities.
