Aided Evaluation On Industrial Competitiveness Of Marine Industry In Guangdong Province Based On PCA-TOPSIS

As the major economic province in China, Guangdong also develops a lot inmarine economic and gets a good grade. With the fast development of economic andmarine industry, Guangdong also has made a great contribution to national economy.Therefore, with another full-round exploring and opening of coastal economic, manyprovinces including Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Liaoning and Fujian have emerged. It is athreaten to Guangdong. So increasing upgrade and adjustment effort and enhancingcompetitiveness in marine industry is an inevitable choice for Guangdong. Thus, it iskey to make clear the advantages and disadvantages of Guangdong’s marine industry.And how to estimate the competitiveness of Guangdong’s marine industryscientifically and objectively is significant to make sure the marine developmentsteady and competitiveness increasing.This article focus on competitiveness of marine industry. Using thesystematology and holism to analyze and research the influencing factors,competition system and evaluating method of marine industry at first. And then baseon the overall consideration in marine industry’s characteristic and influencing actorsof it’s competitiveness, an evaluation index system of marine industrycompetitiveness is structured. The article compared Guangdong with other coastalprovinces through SPSS software, using the PCA--TOPSIS. In this way, thecompetitiveness of the abundance of marine resource, marine science and technologytalent resource, the main industry and marine economy was worked out. Therefore,we can see the ranking of marine industry competitiveness among the11coastalprovinces and get the advantages and disadvantages of marine industry between them.At the end of this article, some suggestions of how to improve marine industrycompetitiveness are pertinently pointed out.
