In this paper, based on the basic concept of commercial health insurance and the analysis of its unique risk, we discuss the problems in the commercial health insurance products development in China, and hope to learn from foreign advanced experience of product development for health insurance.The thesis is divided into five parts, the content is organized as follows,The opening is "introduction". It introduces the research background, purpose, and content of this paper, the significance of the study, and also the domestic and foreign scholars in the field of health insurance.The first chapter is "commercial health insurance". In this chapter, the basic definition and characteristics of commercial health insurance are described in detail, the three conditions Emphasis of "disease" definition in health insurance are emphasized, the comparative is taken among commercial health insurance, life insurance and accident insurance, so we can know that commercial health insurance more stringent on the underwriting standards and more unpredictability conclusions on operational risk.The second chapter is "SWOT analysis of China’s commercial health insurance product development". It analyzes the strengths and opportunities of the commercial health insurance product development, and comes out the result that the commercial health insurance product in China has broad market prospects and good environment for research and innovation under favorable economic and policy environment firstly. And secondly, it analyses the lack of motivation in innovation of China’s commercial health insurance product development process, the crowding out effect of social security, and disadvantage of the oligopoly health insurance market.Finally, it points out some shortcomings of China’s commercial health insurance product development which are products structural imbalances, and insurance policy design.flaws.The third chapter is "experience and enlightenment of foreign health insurance development and product development". The author selects three countries which, with different health care systems, are Britain, USA and Germany, and describes the situation in their respective development of commercial health insurance. And finally points out the experience available of developed countries for the development of China’s commercial health insurance products.The forth chapter is "policy recommendations to promote China’s commercial health insurance product development". It makes hot market analysis on China’s commercial health insurance product and policy orientation of the health insurance market. It comes out principles, strategies and suggestions on commercial health insurance product development in China.
