Currently, energy and environmental issue is still not optimistic, people began topursue the economic growth mode of low pollution, low mission and lowconsumption. Electricity industry based on consuming large amounts of fossil fuelwill play an important role on adjusting energy structure and promoting thedevelopment of new energy industries. Smart grid is the future direction of the grid, which bear a huge energy saving task, one of the biggest feature is the “clean andefficient, strong and reliable”, which can effectively promote the development oflow-carbon electricity. In this paper, a low-carbon benefits evaluation system of smart grid is conductedin-depth research. The meaning of our smart grid, objectives and the strategicsignificance of implementation are studied based on the analysis of the research statusof smart grid related evaluation content, evaluation methods at home and abroad. Then considering the low-carbon benefits of the smart grid can be achieved from thegeneration, transmission, distribution, consumption and scheduling, it builds ascientific and comprehensive smart grid low-carbon evaluation system, and proposesthe combination evaluation method. The subjective weights is determined by the levelof analysis methods which improved by cloud model, objective weight is determinedby entropy method, the comprehensive weight is the combination of the linearcombination of subjective and objective weights. According to the characteristics ofsmart grid low-carbon index system, the smart grid low-carbon evaluation model isdesigned based on combining the level of analysis improved by cloud model, entropymethod, improvement ideal point method, and improved gray correlation method. Thecombined evaluation method enables the smart grid carbon benefit assessment morescientific, reliable, accurate and effective. In this paper, it takes the “Twelfth Five Year Plan”of a southern province for aexample, using designed evaluation index system and evaluation model for thelow-carbon benefits of smart grid.Empirical analysis shows that the index system not only has important guidingsignificance on the further development and improvement of the regional smart gridlow-carbon,but also has important reference value on the grid future developmentdirection and the social and economic benefits evaluation of smart grid smart.
