Heilongjiang region has a long history, but because of the remote location, the trafficbehind, in ancient times and did not form a large town. Transportation within the region ismainly ancient land and sea transport, influenced by natural conditions. Small overall traffic,especially in the winter, the basic survival not survive. The size of the presence of ancienttowns in the region is unlikely, residents single component, mainly in the professionalsoldiers based. Urban functions are mainly political and military center, guarding theborder.However, when the railroad began to appear in the Heilongjiang region, rapidlychanging patterns of urban development: from the traditional military and political center,into the economy as the driving force for development of various types of towns, includingcommercial-type towns, border towns type, resource-based towns and so on. From theoriginal distribution of towns or large border along the Yangtze River into the center alongthe railway line to the distribution of a new pattern. Meanwhile modernization of rail trafficin the town also played an important role. First, help urban migration, immigrationingredients, migration routes, the number of immigrants with vastly different fromtraditional immigration. Secondly, the spatial distribution, most of the buildings in the newtown rail line, or to become an important hub for rail transport lines; once again, a lot ofimportant rail lines in the city driven by rail transport, the formation of a new Trade towns;Finally, the resource-rich city in the region is gradually being developed, by rail to becomethe new resource-based development towns.The book is total of four parts. The first part is a former railway constructiondevelopment situation of the Qing military-type political economy of urban and agriculturaltowns; second part of the town after the railway construction development situation,including the towns and border towns along the railway development situation late Qingperiod; third part is from the horizontal discusses the impact of the railway on theperspective of urban development in the entire region, summed up the impact of urbandevelopment of modernization. The study of Qing Dynasty urban areas, mainly from Heilongjiang railway traffic for theangle, the purpose is to better provide experience and lessons for urban development andconstruction of railway construction in Heilongjiang Province, to promote the continuousand inter-urban area of the town better and faster development.
