In the latest two years, China domestic lead-acid battery industry is facingenvironmental and industry structure adjustment pressures, especially in Guangdong,Zhejiang, Fujian, have already closed the most lead-related enterprises, the rest of thelead–acid battery related companies are also facing the market share reshuffle.Enterprises who are still alive are facing a serious problem that how to survive and keepgrowth in the coming market environment.In this serious situation, Shanghai C&D batteries decide to lunch theimplementation of the ERP project, trying to reduce waste, lean manufacturing, quickcorresponding market expectations through ERP project implementation, to get astronger position in the highly competitive market environment.Since the1990s, Gartner Group proposed ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)concept, after that many large foreign companies lunched their ERP projectimplementation, and many of them achieved fruitful results, gain the profit via reducingthe cost of production and logistics. So many domestic companies have also launched theERP project with their own individual situation, with different methods different software.But many companies failed, or do not achieved the expected results.Shanghai C&D battery is a medium-sized with both production and sales functionscombined entity. The article listed the problems occurred in the process of ShanghaiC&D ERP implement, and since most of them are common problems for the otherentities, just take them for example, to show how they happened and how to solve themthrough optimize the ERP settings, process managing, or ERP software secondarydevelopment.This paper touched how to optimize the MRP suggestion via improve of data quality,and how to improve the usage of cash and stock. And it also touched how to improve theproduction plan to improve the production efficiency, and how to support a prospective markting report to manager team. And then summarize the solution implemtations.Finally, these optimizations in the implementation and the features of the projects tobe summarized, sorted out some common characteristics. So try to give other companiessome useful suggestions.The paper concludes that, ERP project implementation can be very simple, just tofind their own suitable way, just to be sure that any business on the ERP project mustbase on its own conditions.
