More and more attention was paid to food security and sharply roselogistics costs. How to deliver perishable products (such as fruit, vegetables, meat products, soy products, etc.) more effective and rapidly tothe customer has become an important topic of perishable productsmanufactures, suppliers, retailers and scholars. However, the efficient andinstant supply chain system needs each node enterprise to shareinformation and focus on optimizing decisions collaboratively. Thescholars in the full awareness of the real problems, studied inventoryproblems, inventory routing problem, vehicle routing problem,manufacturing-distribution system and other aspects of the perishableproducts. However, few scholars do research on inventory andtransportation integrated strategies under the condition stock dependentdemand. Aiming at this topic, this paper studies the problem from theprofit of the retailers and the cost of the system. Specific issues as shownbelow:(1) Optimal ordering and transfer policy for deteriorating items withstock dependent demand. Base on the single perishable item for the study, this paper develops a model to determine the retailer’s optimal orderingand replenishing policy for those deteriorating products, considering thelimitation of the display shelf and the difference of deteriorating ratesbetween the warehouses and the display shelves. Numerical examples arepresented to illustrate the models developed and the sensitivity analysis isalso reported.(2) Multi-tours inventory-routing integrated optimization for deteriorating items. In the two-echelon supply chain system with a singlesupplier and multiple retailers, this paper considers the deterioration occursin the transportation stage and the multi-tours to optimize the efficiency ofthe vehicle using in the model. The objective is to determine the optimalrouting schedules, the number of vehicles and cycle time for each retailerto minimize the total cost per unit time of the two-echelon supply chainsystem, contains the fixed costs, the handling costs, the travel costs, theinventory costs both at warehouse and shelf and the costs of deterioration. The effect of different kinds of deterioration is analyzed through numericalexample.
