Since the financial crisis broke out in2008, the condition of global economiccontinue to shock but with improvement in weak recovery. Close regional cooperationmechanism is gradually replacing the role of multilateral coordination bodies, especially among those emerging developing economies. Thus the rapid developmentof regional economy brings hope for the recovery of global economy. This thesisselected the two of the most representative and on-going regional economic integrationorganizations to make comparison, which are Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement(TPP) and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). In this thesis, methods such as theory with practical ways, logical analysis, comparative analysis andquantitative analysis have been used in analyzing the economic effect of thecompetition between China in RCEP and the United States in TPP, which will draw aconclusion and make suggestions. Firstly, this thesis will make a comparison betweenRCEP and TPP based on the introduction of them from two aspects. One is analyzingRCEP and TPP in aspects of organizational structure and contents; the other iscomparing TPP and RCEP with APEC and WTO in aspects of membership, cooperation mechanism, operation mechanism and contents to learn their lessons andskills. Secondly, it describes the role and coming-problem of China and the UnitedStates in the competition of RCEPand TPP, and makes a pre-judgment about their race.Thirdly, it analyzes the static and dynamic effects of the competition between Chinaand the United States respectively in RCEP and TPP.The conclusion of this thesis is as follows:①Although TPP and RCEP differ inmany ways such as standards, economic strength, trade structure and liberalizationlevel, the prospective effects of scale and market expansion is enormous.②ThoughTPP and RCEP differ in methods and means, but have the same goal of promoting thedevelopment of free trade.③China will suffer a lot whether to join the TPPor RCEPwhich is worth of it in the long term. The standard of TPPis too high to China to acceptat present, but China can grasp the opportunity of RCEP to adjust domestic industrialstructure and economic policy for preparing to join in TPP.④TPP and RCEP shouldlearn fromAPEC and WTO to spare no efforts to explore ways to maximize the interestof all parties in the same time of setting high standards. Only in this way can TPP andRCEP make progress and share mutual interest together.
