Research On Client’ Behavior Risk Based On Industry Culture And Institution

In recent years, as people are more aware of risk, the owner irregularities havecaused serious risks of the project failure in the construction market. However, thetraditional research on owners risk is mainly the subjective risk analysis on generaldescription of owner irregular behaviors and the causes, while ignoring the analysisand control of the risk caused by the construction industry culture, system and otherfactors. Not only does the owners irregular behaviors damage the rights and interestsof contractors, but also affects the quality of the project and the benefit of investmentin the construction market, Particularly in the current construction market, there stillexist some problems in system and mechanism, so it is necessary to regulate theconstruction market combined with its actual situation and take measures; in otherwords, establishing a long-term management mechanism to promote the healthydevelopment of the construction market.Based on the review of domestic and foreign owners risk research and combinedwith the practice of our country’s construction market, this thesis carries out thequestionnaire of risk factors of owner irregular behaviors. Then from two dimensionsof industry culture and system, this thesis analyzes the owner behavior in engineeringconstruction in details. This thesis analyzes how the owners’ behaviors causes effectof risk, and finally based on this, from the two aspects of internal and external,propose the risk prevention and treatment measures, namely the establishment ofcollaborative management of efficient executable risk prevention system.This research explores risks from two dimensions of culture and the institution ofthe construction industry, and discusses the risk factors of the owner’s substandardbehavior s and the risk of irregularities. These results show that, the main reason ofthe nonstandard behavior of owners is that the owners of their own incomprehensiveability, driven by interests, abuse of power, deliberately reduce project investment andso on. It not only can provide a scientific basis for regulating the behavior of theowners, but put forward the corresponding risk prevention measures which isconducive to the healthy development of construction market.
