Refining a core value system with distinctive characteristics of the times and war industry that matches the forwarding direction of the socialist advanced culture is a great strategic raise for the national defense science and technology industrial front to carry out the spirit of the 17th NPC concerning the construction of socialist harmonious culture, and is an important theoretical creativity to the research of war industry. Thus refining and constructing the core value system of war industry culture is of great and profound importance to the development of national defense science and technology industry.This paper focuses on the research of constructing the core value system of war industry culture. It centers on what the core value system of war industry culture is, why and how to construct it. By analyzing the true meanings of value, core value, value system and core value system which are closely related to the war industry culture, this paper summarizes the core value system of the war industry as one center(to serve national defense by putting national interest first) and five fundamental aspects(to love motherland and to serve national defense; to unite and cooperate and to consider the interests of the whole;to show loyalty and respect to work and to devote non-selfishly; to work diligently in spite of difficulties and to innovate independently; to respect science and to seek ever greater perfection).Last but not least, this paper puts forward some suggestions to construct the core value system of the war industry culture.
