The Research On The Effect Of High-tech Service’s Development On Manufacturing Industry’s Upgrading

In recent years, with the continuous progress of science and technology and theincreasing levels of human needs, service industry is rapidly developed and new servicetypes are emerging. In this context, the high-tech services (HTS) concept was born.However, the understanding of HTS has to be improved by the academia and government,so that the promptly and effectively carrying out in the field of HTS has considerablenecessity and significance. On the other hand, the research of the upgrade issues on China’smanufacturing industry is increasingly becoming the major topics in the industrial structureadjustment process, which is researched actively by scholars from a variety of aspects.Firstly, this study summarizes the research on various aspects of HTS, generalizes thedevelopment of HTS and related concepts, deeply analyzes the basic characteristics of HTS,that includes four aspects. In addition, this study gives a general and open definition ofHTS. Furthermore, in order to clarify the industry it contained and to correspond with thenational industry classification, this study determine its division in the I, L, M, N categoriesunder6classes and2subclasses, and thus it is more clear about the links between thedefinition of HTS and the actual industry classification of China’s current economicdevelopment.Secondly, on the basis of previous studies, according to study on the effect ofmanufacturing industry upgrade to the high-tech services industry related productionservices， knowledge-intensive services (KIBS), in relation to the characteristics ofhigh-tech service industry itself, theoretically analyzed the development of high-techservice industry to the effect of the manufacturing sector upgrade.Then this study analyzes the development of HTS from2004to2011, compare thedevelopment of HTS in China with the status in foreign countries and assess of thedevelopment status in China by method of scoring and factor analysis. After analysis andassessment of industrial upgrade of manufacturing sector, it is more urgent that in China themanufacturing industry is to upgrade, and three manufacturing problems are analyzed frommanufacturing upgrade point of view.In Chapter V, according to the data of2004-2011, an empirical study on the effect ofHTS development to the upgrade of manufacturing industry is carried out utilizing theGranger causality test and the method of Canonical correlation analysis, from the aspect ofthe total effect of HTS to manufacturing upgrade, the correlation degree between HTSinternal development factors and production industry upgrade related index.
