Collaborative is the core of integrated project delivery (IPD) which needs mutualtrust, close cooperation between all parties, in order to promote the integration ofrelevant experience and knowledge of various parties. That is, IPD projects depend ontrust and collaboration between the parties. However, the traditional way of choosingproject parties cannot help to build collaborative teams for IPD projects effectively. Therefore, this thesis puts forward an effective way to select the IPD parties, based onthe characteristics and requirements of IPD mode.Target at IPD parties’ selection, this research is conducted from the perspective ofknowledge integration, based on inter-organizational transactive memory system(I-TMS). I-TMS drives group members to be mutual trust and then integrateprofessional knowledge cooperatively, matching the idea of IPD. This thesis selectsparties for IPD based on I-TMS includes two processes: First, this research constructsthe I-TMS scale, as well as the I-TMS assessment. We then test the reliability andvalidity of the I-TMS scale using quantitative analysis; Second, we choose theoptimal combination of IPD parties via initial selection (select all the combinationswith high I-TMS) and final selection (compare the selected combinations and choosethe optimal one). In addition, this thesis provides the final combination some relevantadvices by using social network analysis. This thesis finally presents a case study to ensure the feasibility of the proposedparties selection method for IPD. Meanwhile, this study chooses a combination ofproject parties for IPD, rather than each project party, to ensure the mutual trust andclose collaboration between the selected IPD parties.
