Cultivated land is not only the important and basic resource we live by,but also thematerial foundation for agricultural development. It’s related to people’s livelihood, nationaleconomic security and people’s daily life. Land available for development in China hasbeen very limited. Evaluation of the sustainable use of cultivated land use for the currentsocial and economic development in China is of great significance. To understand the time serial change law and spatial variation characteristics ofcultivated land sustainable use in Gansu province, according to the statistical and surveydata of land use change in Gansu province from2006to2011,based on the connotationdefining of sustainability of cultivated lands, the author built an index system forsustainable cultivated land use evaluation, gave a sustainable evaluation of the cultivatedland in Gansu province from2005to2010and every country of Gansu province2010byusing the energy theory;using the Geoda and Arcgis to analysis the results of every countrycultivated land sustainable use evaluation in2010, to explore differences and reasons forspatial distribution, making land using division. This research will be used as a fixturereference for land management department to make scientific andreasonable cultivated landprotection and utilization policy,it will help the cultivated landystem to achieve sustainabledevelopment. Research conclusions are as follows:(1) Timing evaluation:2005-2010, production stability index Gansu Province farmlandecological and economic systems, social acceptability index increased year by year, butdeclining ecological rationality index, the index is unstable economically viable. This ismainly due to:2005-2010, Gansu Province ecosystems into farmland auxiliary energyindustry, more and more, to a certain extent, the economic benefits of maintainingfarmland, but the presence of factor inputs not produced economic phenomenon, thegrowth rate of investment in energy value but can not bring signifiers such as the ratio ofoutput growth; while reducing ecological stability index was mainly due to continuousinvestment in industrial support can, and can not make up for the loss of topsoilsupplement energy value, the loss of soil surface energy values rely mainly on organicenergy value input, and the input of organic energy value, with the social and economicdevelopment increasingly neglected.(2) The spatial distribution, topography Gansu Province, rainfall, soil, climate hasobvious regional. Sustainable utilization of Hexi, Gansu, Longnan, Gannan, Longxi gradual deterioration of arable land resources. The difference between natural resourcesand human activity is the sustainable use of arable land spatial variation of the main reasons. In order to promote the sustainable use of arable land, arable land use zoning, localconditions, weaknesses, and actively improve farmland outside environmental conditions, protecting the environment, production conditions excellence, and strive to create avirtuous cycle of the system, while improving the quality and grade of farmland itself, reduce non-renewable energy resources value investment, increase the value of organicenergy investment, promote ecological and economic system consists of farmland valuesintensive to be able to change the value of a safe and efficient type.(3) Comprehensive index of sustainable use at county level of Gansu province werelow, mainly because rationality index was overall lower, improving the energy investmentstructure and optimize energy output structure the quality and grade of land itself, improvefarmland external environment, to promote eco-economic system consists of farmlandvalues intensive to be able to change the value of safe-efficient, sustainable use ofcultivated land in the area is important.
