Traffic infrastructure is regarded as social leading capital, which is prerequisite to promote regional economic development and as an important driving force. On the one hand, the traffic infrastructure as economic infrastructure, through direct investment directly stimulate economic growth; On the other hand, the traffic infrastructure is quasi public goods and the network properties, will promote the flow of the spread of information technology and genius, thereby reducing the whole social transaction cost and enhance economic efficiency.Transportation infrastructure is the tie that link between regional economic activities, its externality and the network properties, can promote the spatial aggregation and proliferation activity of interaction, make traffic infrastructure spatial spillover effects on regional economic development. This article main research content:First, combining with the characteristics of transportation infrastructure attributes, according to the cost of " iceberg theory " of new economic geography will transport infrastructure within the space effect on biochemical and incorporated into the general equilibrium analysis framework;Second, based on the perspective of new economic geography space, select " coreperiphery" theoretical model of spatial economic agglomeration effect analysis of traffic infrastructure, and generate agglomeration effect;Third, according to " hypothesis", " flying geese theory", " industrial gradient shift theory" analysis have spread effect on the economy of space transportation infrastructure. Traffic facilities of the spillover effect and strength is through the interaction of agglomeration effect and diffusion effect.Article uses provincial panel data from 1997 to 2012, to build the binary space weight, geospatial weight, economic spatial weight matrix model, using the maximum likelihood estimation(ML) method to measure the traffic infrastructure spatial spillover effects. Is to consider the explained variable and the disturbance of spatial dependencyproblem, so to further introduce the spatial lag model(SLM) and spatial error model(SEM), through the national, eastern, central and western data contrast analysis to study the spatial spillover effects of the western traffic infrastructure. The main conclusions are as follows:First, the spatial lag model(SLM), road infrastructure is negative space spillover effect, effect of strength of about 0.223-0.39, rail infrastructure has positive spillover effects of space, effect value is between 0.129 to 0.339;Second, spatial error model(SEM), road infrastructure spatial spillover effect is negative, about 0.345-0.467, rail infrastructure has positive spillover effects of space, the effect size of 0.197-0.347;Third, the spatial lag model(SLM) and spatial error model(SEM), the spillover effects of the east and west highway facilities are negative, and the east than west. East rail infrastructure spillover effects are negative, the west is positive, overall effect is obvious strength values of eastern.
