| This research was made to improve the quality of sedan piston products by the 8D method and optimize the traditional 8D methodology by combining with group quality platform and related theoretical results, then it was applied to a group of sedan piston products quality improvement. This research has a strong practical significance.Firstly, the concept, procedure and characteristics of the traditional 8D method were introduced on the basis of related theoretical knowledge at home and abroad.Secondly, the current quality situation of the piston series was analyzed and the feasibility of using 8D method for quality improvement in a group was studied according to its quality platform, senior management and members of the 8D group. Thirdly, the key step of determining the root cause was streamlined, temporary measures and prevention of recurrence was developed to set up a methodology research. An optimized 8D method was summed up by analyzing each step of the tradition 8D method. In the end, the quality improvement of the H479 Q sedan piston products in the group was brought up as an example. which was according to the quality improvement of exhaust valve pit of the H479 Q sedan piston products deviating from its center, then the improvement plan was determined. The deviation of exhaust valve pit of the H479 Q sedan piston products was eliminated after the improvement. The product quality was improved which continuously reduced the cost of quality loss for the enterprise and enhanced the enterprise’s core competitiveness. |
