After twenty-first century, with the rapid development of economy, China’s shipbuilding industry is being promoted and plays a significant role, but the comparative mismatching between a great number of shipbuilding factories and the financing capacity of shipping company leads to the unbalance of funds chain, and limits the development of industry to a certain degree. The design of ship credit product can relieve the unbalancing problem of funds chain effectively, and guarantee the stable development of Taizhou’s shipping industry at source.This paper first analyzes the research status of domestic and foreign ship credit product and the macroenvironment of the national shipping industry, and then arranges the domestic ship credit product’s classification, constitution, characteristics, risk and so on, which provides inspiration for the exploitation and optimization of the national ship credit product. Afterwards, via questionnaire, Hailing District and newly developed district in Taizhou are randomly selected as the sample to investigate market demand and the actual conditions of ship credit product. It turns out that there is a huge potential in the market demand for the ship credit product, the actual use is not appropriate and the relevant product is single, which cannot satisfy the needs of shipping industry, therefore commercial banks need to develop the corresponding ship credit product.Based on the selected indexes as the research foundation, through the index score, weight calculation, the article preliminarily filters indexes which have higher correlation with customer demand and on this basis, continues to screen out the highest degree of several indexes as the key indicators of bank product design. Simultaneously, the above key indicators are applied to design preliminary credit scheme. Then, setting XX Bank Taizhou Branch as an example, this article designs a ship credit product for it using the key indexes built by the social network analysis (SNA), which fulfills the blank field of this bank. Finally, considering how to implement the credit products and services and optimize products of commercial banks, the paper puts forward expectations and suggestions.The purpose of this paper is by extracting key indexes, and exploiting ship credit product, based on the expansion of ship credit product range, to guide and inspire the innovative design of ship credit product of commercial banks. Future research can be devoted to in-depth studying and developing new ship credit product of commercial banks. At the same time, business data of ship credit product can be used to conduct more advanced empirical analysis on the operating performance of ship credit product.
