Thriving describes an individual’s experience of vitality and learning. It is a standard of measuring growth and development of individuals. Studies of the impact of thriving are meaningful to individuals and organizations. However, domestic empirical researches on thriving at work are still scarce. The social embeddedness of employees’ thriving at work provides a theoretical framework for the study. This study examines how employees thrive at work in response to resources (i.e., positive meaning, knowledge, and relational resources) and agentic work behaviors by literature review, questionnaire and model testing. The study completes Chinese version scales of resources produced in the doing of work, agentic work behaviors and thriving at work. Study also examines how employees thrive at work in response to resources and agentic work behaviors by SEM. Positive meaning of resources produced in the doing of work has a positive impact on learning. Knowledge has a positive impact on agentic work behaviors. Relational resources and agentic work behaviors have positive impact on both components of thriving. |
