Research On Coordination Mechanism Of Regional Cooperation In Yellow River Golden Triangle

Political study of the regional issues is a new orientation of political science research in China. Under the circumstance of comprehensively deepen reform these years, accelerating coordinated regional development has turned into a necessary path to reduce regional disparities and promote overall development.At present, China has approximately 300 Regional Cooperation Organizations. This thesis will focus on one of typical case studies:Shanxi, Shaanxi and Henan Yellow River Golden Triangle Regional Coordinated Development Experimental Zone. The area located in the edge of Shanxi, Shaanxi, and Henan Provinces, including four prefecture-level cities:Yuncheng, Weinan, Sanmenxia, and Linfen.The typical Regional Cooperation Plan which has just been approved by the government in 2014 is intended to explore a new mechanism to break through the barrier of administrative divisions and strengthen the cooperation and communication between provincial junction edge regions as well. This case has educational significance and demonstration effect to cooperation between other interprovincial prefecture-level cities.This thesis is on the basis of field research and literature studies, as well as the theory of intergovernmental relations supporting. The first section reviews history and current situation of cooperation in Yellow Golden Triangle Region, then through comparing coordination mechanisms between the local governments to analyze characteristics and deficiencies of the cooperation. The following parties put forward some corresponding solutions and mechanism frameworks on how to break through the barrier of administrative divisions in Yellow River Golden Triangle, establish effective, long-acting, normal operating mechanisms and set up effective cooperation mechanisms at the national, provincial, municipal and county levels.
