| International trade plays an important role in the economic development in Tianjin, an export-oriented economy developed coastal cities, which have a strong pulling effect for the local GDP. The profit space of Tianjin foreign trade company has been seriously compressed by many complicated factors from both at home and abroad. It is inevitable for the foreign trade company to realize what they should do to promote transformation and upgrading of company and to keep the sustainable development of the economic of Tianjin.Based on relevant theories, this paper researched on determinants of international trade development mode transformation in Tianjin by using continuous export enterprise data of Tianjin in 1998-2009. Added value has been used to measure the updating of the enterprise. First of all, current situation of foreign trade enterprise value-added level are analyzed by the perspective of qualitative analysis, possible impacting factors have been analysed theoretically. Secondly, we use statistical software to test the determinants of foreign trade development mode change to identify the direction and degree of decision factors. Finally we give some advice for the company in Tianjin according to our research results for Tianjin foreign trade enterprises.This article adopts the research method of integrating theory with practice, combining the actual situation of Tianjin foreign trade enterprise with theoretical study and using different regression methods to verify the robustness of empirical results. The results shows that the comprehensive competitive ability and the r&d intensity help to promote the transformation and upgrading of the enterprise, but the increasing of the export is proved to be a negative factor to the enterprise’s climbing to the high level of the value chain. Our research on the identification of the determinants provides strong theoretical support for the path choice of foreign trade development mode change. |
