During the 15 years from 1998 to 2013, the cooperation between commercial banks and security companies has been increasingly strengthened. In response to the diversified product portfolio of China’s financial market, the monitoring institutions has published laws and regulations like the Provisional rules of commercial bank intermediary business, Measures for the management of securities companies stock pledge loan. With the restriction of these files, commercial banks and security companies have kept developing their synergy.Nowadays, China’s financial market system has kept executing its reform, and new financial business models boomed. Under this background, the cooperation between China’s commercial banks and security companies, especially the asset management business would embrace its new growth cycle. However, this cooperation is still at a very low status and it could probably be the prelude of the mixed operation of China’s financial industry. With the continuous openness of financial monitoring, it could be expected that the asset management cooperation between commercial bank and security companies could be very important module of China’s financial market.A commercial bank is a competitive bank in China’s financial market, and its cooperating path with security companies is worth discussion. On the basis of domestic macro financial developing trend, this paper will take the operating status of A commercial bank, trying to figure out the business model and strategy it has adopted in the cooperation with security companies in asset management business. At last, this paper would provide a conclusion and several suggestions for further reference.
