The Theoretical Research Of New Urbanization In China

What is the developing orientation of China’s urbanization? It is an issue triggering endless disputes among Chinese scholars. In view of the lessons in Western urbanization and the problems encountered in China’s traditional urbanization, the Communist Party of China advocates that we cannot copy the Western model and take the path of traditional urbanization.Based on the basic national conditions of the current primary stage of socialism and the international situation in the new era, CPC Central Committee strives to emancipate the mind,seek truth, work hard; under the guidance of scientific development concept, it leads the Party and people of all ethnics to explore a new achievement, namely, Chinese new urbanization theoretical system. This paper reviews the formation process of new urbanization theory.Starting from the word of "new", it analyzed the uniqueness, clearly defined "what is China’s new urbanization" and "how to build China’s new urbanization", thus exploring and evaluating its theoretical value and practical significance. New urbanization theory did not only inherit the Marx and Engels thought on urban-rural relations, but deepened and enriched the theory of the socialist road with Chinese characteristics, providing a new theoretical guidance to urbanization. In the new stage, we can only seize the opportunity of building a comprehensive well-off society by paying more attention to research and implement new urbanization theory, thus grasping the overall situation of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
