The uncertainty of market environmental change trends makes business survival increasingly difficult, how to identify the location and develop strategies becomes a problem for enterprise to face under the dual pressure of internal and external environment. Between internal innovation and external imitation, most companies are more likely inclined to imitate other companies due to the limitation of capital, size or ability, which provides an opportunity for top managers to transfer across enterprise border. Thus top manager’s flow across enterprise border becomes an important way for most enterprises to learn and get strategic knowledge resources.Based on the perspective of knowledge transfer and the existing relevant literature of upper echelons theory and enterprise strategy, this paper, using the paired Samples data which collects form Listed Companies of Manufacture industry in Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Market to conduct empirical analysis, focuses on the following three aspects: First, in the process of top manager’s flow across enterprise border, how their knowledge and experience influences the strategy learning across enterprise border; Second, how the relational demography of flowing executives and top management team influences the strategy learning across enterprise border after the transfer executives enter into the target corporate; Third, whether relational demography moderates the relation between executive experience and strategy learning. With correlation and regression analysis, the results show that top manager’s knowledge and experience facilitates significantly the strategy learning across enterprise border in the process of top manager’s flow across enterprise border, which makes strategy similarity between target enterprise and source enterprise, wherein the team’s relational demography plays a positive role. This paper, using theoretical and empirical methods, explores the relationship between top manager’s knowledge and experience and the strategy learning, and complements the upper echelons theories; on the other hand, we introduce relational demography to research strategy of target corporate, prior to previous study, which is rarely seen, and enrich the content of corporate strategy research. In practice, the study is highly instructive for top managers and enterprise. On chapter arrangement, the paper includes six parts. First, we introduce the research background, problem, objectives and significance of the paper. Then, on the base of summarizing relevant literature of upper echelons theory and enterprise strategy, we get the research model and theoretical assumptions, and further draw conclusions through test the hypothesis using empirical analysis. Finally, we summarize the full text and its future prospect.
