Failure is an important source for organizational learning,and learning from failure can enhance the competitiveness of enterprises.At present,research on the influencing factors of failure learning on organizational performance is very mature,and research on the modes to learn from failure is gradually enriched.Dividing failure learning modes of organization can help to carry out more detailed research on failed learning.Failure learning can be divided into internal failure learning and external failure learning mode according to learning sources.There are different learning sources and acquisition of knowledge for the two failure learning modes.Exploring the mechanism and difference of the two failure learning modes for learning effects can help to provide more theoretical guidance and advices on the selection and optimization of failure learning strategies.Based on organization learning theory,this paper constructs a theoretical model with organizational knowledge transfer and knowledge integration as mediators.This paper used questionnaire method to set to study.In this paper,the scale of failure learning is developed through the literature induction and in-depth interviews,and the description of the items were modified according to the expert opinions and pre-test.Then the small sample survey was carried out to cut extra items to get the final questionnaire,while 311 valid questionnaires were collected online.Hypotheses are tested through the method of structural equation model.Based on the verified paths of theoretical model,the mediation effect of knowledge transfer and knowledge integration is tested by Bootstrapping method.Finally,the degree of promotion of failure learning by two failed learning modes is compared.The results show that both internal failure learning and external failure learning can have positive impacts on the failure learning effect.Both of the failure learning modes can positively promote the failure learning effect through the multi-step mediation of knowledge transfer to knowledge integration.However,there are differences between two kinds of failure learning modes.The external failure learning model is better than the internal failure learning in both direct and indirect effects of,and there is an extra path under external failure learning,which can directly improve the learning effect through the intermediary role of knowledge integration.This paper finds the difference between the effects of the two failure learning modes and the specific mechanism,enriches theories of failure learning,and provides some theoretical guidance for the strategy optimization and selection for enterprises to learn from failure.
