With the rapid development of three decades, China’s economy has proceeded to a new period of integration and transformation. Under these new circumstances, management innovation became the key to drive the enterprise to the road of sustainable development.X company, as the first brand of China’s green elevator, devoted itself to the R&D, manufacture, installation, and maintenance of elevator and escalator. Since 2009, in order to confront the fierce market competition, X company began to promote and implement lean improvement to optimize process, reduce waste, improve efficiency, ensure quality and meet the diversified demand of market.Door operator is the most important part of elevator, which plays the vital role in the security of elevator operation. X company has carried out a series of application research in lean improvement for door operator line. Combined with actual conditions in the door operator line at X company, this paper took use of theoretical knowledge of project management and lean production to proceed the application research of lean improvement and project management. Firstly, this paper studied and summarized the basic theories of project management, lean production and lean improvement project management, looked up a lot of application case of project management and lean production, got the experience from actual implementation of lean improvement project in company and industry. Also, based on the door operator line’s lean improvement project, this paper studied and analyzed the feasibility and necessity of promoting and implementing lean improvement management in X company, analyzed some existing problems during the implementation process, designed and developed a full set of implementation methods for this door operator line’s lean improvement project management, and also in-depth reviewed the overall proposal in the aspects of feasibility, reliability and risk control, afterwards, followed up the implementation process of the overall proposal. After that, compared the door operator line after lean improvement with the line before improvement, this paper summarized the project’s effect, solidified and generalized this improvement in the way of standard work. Ultimately, it concluded and summarized the achievements and problems of project implementation process, reflected the existing problems to provide this industry some reference of lean improvement project management through this project.
