Based on the green data center as the research object, introduce the general theory of the core competitiveness of green data center, in reference to Prahalad c.k. Prahalad and Hamel (Hamel) core competence on the basis of constructing the theoretical framework of green data center core competitiveness research, the theoretical connotation of green data center core competitiveness, compares the characteristics of green data center core competence system is discussed; On the basis of theoretical analysis, based on the data center as the object of empirical analysis, X X data center core competitiveness for the empirical research, obtained the competitive advantages and disadvantages of X data center. Research results show that:first, the X data center competitiveness in the southeast coastal areas of China, energy consumption and location advantages are very obvious, but compared with the data center in northern is not too big advantage. Second, X data center location factors of production, market demand, as well as the obvious advantages of government support.
