The pace of the global economic development slowdown in "Twelfth Five-Year Plan",developed countries began to revive the domestic industry, China’s industrial developmentfaces increasing competition. Low-carbon economy has increasingly become the focus ofglobal attention, with low power consumption, low emissions and low pollutioncharacteristics. Because of domestic energy shortages, rising labor costs, the present situationof environmental degradation and the pressure to develop low-carbon economy, China’sindustrial development is faced with an urgent upgrade situation from factor inputs driven totechnological innovation driven. This paper calculates the total factor productivity of the Yangtze River Delta Region’sindustrial enterprises from1998to2011by DEA-Malmquist. Firstly, deal with overallanalysis, and then conduct a comparative study from three angles, the sub-sector, spatialdifferences and different type of ownership. Studies have shown the following conclusions:Overall: Total factor productivity of industrial enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta regionshowed a rising trend, but the growth rate slowed. The main source of Total FactorProductivity growth is technological progress. The average annual contribution of TFP toeconomic is44.2%, capital investment contribution is52.9%, labor input contribution rate is2.9%. From the sub-sectors: Total factor productivity also shown positive growth ofsub-sectors. Technical efficiency is the most eminent factor to separate the3sorts ofindustries. The TFP growth of industrial enterprises in various industries does not existingσ-convergence and absolute β convergence, TFP of different industries will not stabilize atthe same level. From the point of view of different ownership types: Total factor productivitygap of different ownership types smaller, ownership is not a major factor affecting TFP. Thetotal factor productivity of domestic enterprises is greater than the foreign-funded enterprises.Foreign-funded enterprises should strive to improve the technical efficiency. From theperspective of space: Shanghai’s TFP growth rate is the fastest, Zhejiang the second, Jiangsuis the lowest one. Shanghai, Openness has the highest correlation with TFP; the degree ofJiangsu province and Zhejiang province’s marketization has the highest correlation with TFP.Finally, this paper put forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions based onthe results of the comprehensive study.
