After experiencing the transformation of personal media, content sharing and social networking as the core from web1.0to web2.0, the future direction of web3.0is a3D Internet portal, which gradually migrate the personalization and social activities to the Internet. Correspondingly, virtual world has become from the initial entertainment platform to an integrated space of entertainment, life and business. As a result, the virtual world shows a huge influence and interaction effects on the real world which mainly manifested in large cities, especially for this political, economic and cultural center of Beijing. Therefore, to explore the influence of virtual world on Beijing’s economic and social development and government regulatory response has an important theoretical and practical significance.By the research methods of theoretical analysis, objective norms, Game theory analysis, logical positivism, inductive and deductive, this paper divides the virtual world into three parts as online games, virtual communities, virtual reality, and further analysis its development and application in Beijing, the challenges it brings to Beijing, government regulatory response, and its future expansion in Beijing. Ultimately, the main conclusions from this study are:Beijing can take advantage of the virtual world platform to carry out marketing activities; Vertical virtual communities can be developed for Beijing to keep users; Beijing may further play the role of government micro blogging on public opinion; Creating the government, operators and users collaborative management of the virtual world for Beijing regulatory mode; refined virtual world regulatory strategy for three types of Beijing. Based on the above summary, the relevant department of Beijing could seek out a reference to support and regulate the virtual world.
