Research On The Relationship Of Network Dual Embeddedness, Organization Search And Technical Innovation

Industrial cluster has been as an important driving force to economic development in Chinesemore developed areas, and the main advantage of Industrial cluster is that it can support for smalland medium-sized enterprise to innovate and start an enterprise. Under the background of economicglobalization, the challenges faced by industrial cluster is that it appears serious homogenizedproduct, the market is relatively surplus and competition among enterprises is excessive ina majority of industrial cluster.Most previous literatures discussed the paths and forms of industrial clusters’ transformation andupgrading, and innovation is the basic impetus for clusters’ upgrading. The foothold of the clusterinnovation is the firms, clustered firms which want to achieve breakthrough of innovation mustbreak the original boundaries and set up ultra-local network in order to get more knowledge ofheterogeneity. Therefore, based on network embeddedness theory, the paper rounded the topic ofthe relationship between network dual embeddedness and technology innovation. By usingtheoretical discussion and empirical analysis, it finds that firstly the network dual embeddedness hasa positive effect in technology innovation, and the influence of ultra-local network to exploitativeinnovation and exploratory innovation is greater than the local network; Secondly, network dualembeddedness has a positive effect to organizing search, but the local and ultra-local network havedifferent effects on search depth and width, namely local network is more advantageous to searchdepth, while the ultra-local network is beneficial to search width; Thirdly, network dualembeddedness effects technology innovation by organizing search, but the mechanism is different.Network dual embeddedness effects exploitative innovation through search depth, while it effectsexploratory innovation through search width.The conclusion to clustered firm is that when it constructs the local network, it should pay moreattention to building up the ultra-local network. In addition, the clustered firm should choose areasonable search strategy to get the knowledge base for innovation. This research contributes toinnovation is that it discusses network with different geographical scope has differential impact oninnovation, and it also clears the mechanism between network dual embeddedness and technologyinnovation.
