Product’s quality is an important factor which will be directly influences thecustomer satisfaction, good quality will be a weapon to support on enterprise survivaland beyond competitors. How to continuously improve the quality of products is animportant task of corporate to enhance brand image.Lean production management and Six Sigma are the two most influentialmanagement method in worldwide, along with the development of the theory andpractice, people try to find a kind of management mode which can be combined withthe method of lean production management and six sigma management method, andbeyond them every single mode existing, but the research of this aspect is still notachieve system integration to Lean Six Sigma level of theory so far, which also hassome unclear, or even misunderstanding, they don’t know how to reach the effect of1+1>2in the process of practice.Continental automotive corporation Ltd. implement Lean production since2012in worldwide factories, Changchun factory was selected as the first batch ofdemonstration plant, the author participated in the lean production improvement teamand perform improvement on production quality management methods, summarizequality management methos weakness and achievenemnt which is under Leanoperation mode so far, then proposed the using of Lean Six Sigma theory method asthe improvement countermeasures for production quality management methods, takeproduction quality management method improvement as the Lean six sigma project.set up Lean Six Sigma project team and through the usage of Minitab as statitical toolto support application Lean Six Sigma theory method to optimize and reduce the defect rate and reduce the cost of scrap, at the same time, using Lean Six Sigmatheory’s tools to optizmie production quality management mehonds to support leanproduction running well in Changchun factory. Finally, evaluate the implementationeffect of production quality management improvement.Through set up Lean Six Sigma team and running LSS project, we have solvedtop1sacrap i.e. high welding sacrap quality issue, terminal crack problem has beencompletely solved through welding parameters optimization. Scrap PPM reduce to0PPM from5603PPM, till now overall workshop scrap rate reduce to around0.4%from original0.75%in2014, First Pass Yield index has been well improved,meanwhile,well reduce the customer complaints. Totally cost saving will be around100k RMB per year just base on only this welding scrap improvement in Changchunplant.At the same time, using and perform related tools and theory of Lean Six Sigmato make improvement on production quality management methods, eg. use ofeffective automative line stop method(Jidoka), mistake prevent (Pokayoka), thelayered process audit (LPA), quick response quality control (QRQC) etc. systermaticLean quality management method, then roll out the improved all activites to otherproejcts and whole workshop. In line with the improvement of producion qualitymanagement method to promote Lean production sustainablly develop in Continentalautomotive corporation Co. ltd. Changchun brach.
