Since China has joined in WTO, China’s economy gradually along with globaleconomic integration, fastly involved in the tide of economic development.Manyadvanced foreign competitors suddenly entered previously closed industries,making domestic industries involved in the fierce competition, promoting thetechnology rapid development in all kinds of domestic industries, enablingcustomers have wider and more individualized choices. However enterprises arefacing increased challenges, decreased survival space, various difficulties, andhigher requirements.In order to tailor themselves to the increasingly fierce market,and improve the competitiveness of the enterprises themselves, endlessly innovatingproduct becomes a important approach to develop themselves gradually, effectivelyand healthily.Once the new product admitted by consumers, it will occupy themarket rapidly and effectively, get considerable interest, establish the brand strength,enhance competitiveness of enterprise, finally the enterprise will innovate anddevelop constantly by great economic interest.Automobile industry competition is becoming more and more fiercely as manyfamous auto enterprises of the world launching in China, establishing joint venturecompanies with local manufacturers, domestic manufacturers recombining andconsolidating with each other. Competition among auto manufacturers lead toreduce the development cycle of new auto project, and this would bring some resultsuch as: impact suppliers on marketing evaluation and new products development,increasing the suppliers’ competitionsignificantly, enhancing risks in new productdevelopment. The author now works in Y company which is the top supplier inChinese auto interior and exterior trim field, by the work experience andcomprehension in the process of new product development in Y company, then hewant to sum up some risk factors in that process and operate correctmanagement. In this paper, from the perspective of project risk management, the author make the key point on research and analysis of risk factors and its assessmentin new product development program, meanwhile, in an attempt to extrapolate, wemay spread the method to the whole Y company and automobile trim industry,which could make practitioner understand identification of risk factors in thedevelopment of interior new product program, assessment of risk severityevaluation, and methods of risk control, so as to give some level reference to newproduct program risk factors in auto interior trim industry. Though the risk existobjectively and could not avoid, for those innovative companies, they can reduceand mitigate the risk through the methods as following, process analysis, assessmentand analysis of risk factors which impact on development of new products, set upeffective assessment system of new product, which would make auto accessoryenterprises can have sustainable and healthy development. Nowadays manyresearchers and enterprises in the world research new product development projectin manufacturing industry, but there are few research of assessment and analysis ofrisk control in new product program in auto field especially auto interior trim.This essay mainly states basic concept of risk in the development ofautomotive interior trim, puts forwards the frame of risk management, points outand analyzed several risk factors and build the corresponding risk assessment indexsystem. It gives a introduction of assessment methods of risk factors, and anexplanation of multi-level fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method (MFCEM) andits application in the risk assessment system. In the case of development of SGME18IP&DP in company Y, the author analyzed various potential risks in theprogram development in detail, used the analytic hierarchy process to ascertain theweight of each risk index value, applied the fuzzy mathematical evaluation methodto evaluate various indicators of risk for certain, finally analyzed these risk factorsin detail. It turned out that the risk analysis and assessment in early development ofnew automotive interior trim program has a great meaning to successful start ofproduction.
