Research And Innovation Patterns In Urban Governance

As the governance theory rises and develops all over the world, the urban governance, which is a specific concept of geographical space governance, is becoming a hot and important topic in the academic field to study and discuss. Especially in the strong promotion of globalization, information and urban modernization, the meaning of the research on urban governance which is in the pubic management and practice field are also increasing prominent. At present the research on urban governance in our country is in a low stage relative to the west, which remains to be strengthened and improved. The Significance of this article is mainly manifested in:First, the development of the theory of urban governance were systematically combing theoretical studies reveal innovative model of urban governance, compensate for the lack of theoretical research. Second, Wuhan urban governance practice "cultural five city" mode empirical studies provide preliminary impact assessment and subsequent policy recommendations for Wuhan "cultural five cities" mode. Third, empirical case study in Wuhan sublimation, choose the path to predict the future development of innovative models of urban governance.This article is divided into five parts.Part Ⅰ:Introduction. Firstly, I will describe the origin and significance of this research topics; Secondly, after reviewing the current research at home and abroad, I will summarize the lack of existing research, laying the groundwork for the later research; Thirdly, the introduction of this research’s ideas and methods; and then innovation and shortcomings are ail pointed out in this study; At last, some core concepts of this paper is to be defined.Part Ⅱ:The realistic basis of the innovation model of urban governance. This section first describes three tools of theory:the governance theory, multi-center urban governance theory and the city management theory. All those are the theoretical basis of the whole article. Then point out the realistic basis of urban governance, stating that the innovative urban governance model is an objective requirement in theoretical and practical development.Part III:China’s urban governance problem. Through the analysis of the current dominant model of urban governance’s drawbacks-the management model under the control of the municipal government, to further illustrate innovative urban governance model is the inevitable trend of the traditional model of development.Part Ⅳ:An Empirical research of Wuhan City "cultural five-city" mode. The section detailed interpretation of "cultural five-city" will be made according to the background, building profiles, development difficulties and improvement methods, laying the foundation of innovative urban governance model in the next paragraph.Part Ⅴ:The development and path outlook of the innovative models of urban governance. This section is a further distillation of the earlier case of empirical research, discusses the common features and generality experiences about the innovative urban governance from four aspects:ideas, atmosphere, mechanisms and common paths.
