A Study On Setting Of The Urban Grownth Boundary Of Wuhan City

With the rapid development of urbanization,social economy and people's life quality, the expansion of urban land scale is enlarging.On the one hand,the disordered expansion of urban construction land will trench on a large quantity of high-quality farmland,eve threat the national food securty;on the other hand,the disordered expansion of urban construction land will possibly bring down the efficiency of interior urban land use,as well as cause the wasteful and vacant use of urban land.The country's condition of large amont people and few land determines that we should protect the farmland in our country, and restrain the disordered rapid development of urban land.The policy of urban growth boundary is sighificant and effect,for example,in controlling the disorerly expansion of urban land resourse,and protecting the high-quality farmland of peri-urban areas.Wuhan as one of the megalopolises in central of China,since 90s in 20 century,with the economy development,the urban land expansion is improving very quickly.This thesis takes Wuhan as the research object,and it conduct the analysis about the natural and social economy factors which impacts the urban growth boundary determination; author extracts the built-up area boundary of Wuhan city by the softwares such as mapgis,arcgis etc,and sets up the prediction model base on that boundary,finally it sets out the urban growth boundary of Wuhan city in 2020.The main contents of this thesis are as follows:First part is the perface,it mainly talks about background and significance of this thesis,and it summarize the development progress and the conclusions of these researches at home and abroad,and then it raises the basic thought,essay writing framework and the creative points in this thesis.At the very beginning of second part,it defines the connotation of urban growth boundary,and then it discusses the theoretical basis of urban growth and the urban expansion controlling,these discussions provide the theoretical and implement basis for the research.Finally it studies the method for defining the urban growth boundary.The Third part gives us a brief introduction about Wuhan city,and then it analyses the influence of natural environment,economic development and social environment to the definition of urban growth boundary and city development,and concludes the direction of natural environment,economic development and social environment to the expansion in Wuhan city.In the fourth part,it sets out the built-up area boundary of Wuhan city in 1949,1980,1996 and 2005 according to the method which is provided in the second part, then analyses and concludes the distribution features of the urban landscape as well as the characteristics of urban expanion in Wuhan city.At the last of this part,it determines the urban growth boundary of Wuhan city in 2020,and then it analyses the rationality of boundary definition.Fifth part raises the safeguard measures for the determination of urban growth boundary.Lastly,the sixth part briefly summarizes the thesis's primary conclusions,the awaiting improvements,and the outlook for future research.The thesis sets out the urban growth boundary of wuhan city in 2020.The meaning of the these lies that not only provide the evidence for drawing up the urban planning and land use planning,development and utilization and the management of urban land,but also provides lots of helpful references for the similar research on some other cities.
