Research On Relationship Between Tmt Internal Social Capital, Tmt Behavioral Integrity And Strategic Decision Making Speed In The Context Of Time Based Competition

With the rapid development of information technology and the rapid change of market demand, Chinese firms have confronted unprecedented challenges on strategic decisions. In the face of complex changes of the external environment, how executive teams implement the rapid strategic decision so as to seize market opportunities and avoid threats has get the attention of the researchers. The core of rapid strategic decision is to enhance strategic decision-making speed, and the consistency of action and target are needed, furthermore, the consistency of action and target are shaped and promoted through the interaction of team members. So they are closely related to social capital.In this paper, combining the theory of social capital and upper echelons perspective, we put forward the relation between TMT internal social capital and the strategic decision speed. It firstly takes a detailed review of the recent research achievements of social capital theory, upper echelons theory, TMT internal social capital, TMT behavior integration, strategic decision making and the new progress in the study of the relationship between them, with the following of the case study, based on whose conclusions the theoretical model is built. The data mainly from67TMTs is collected to examine and adjust the questionnaire via exploratorary factor analysis and reliability analysis. And finally SPSS19.0and AMOS17.0statistical software are used to perform data analysis. After the empirical analysis, the research captures the following conclusions.(1) On the basis of three dimensional model, the TMT internal social capital includes four elements, that is interaction strength, network density, team trust and shared values.(2) Different dimensions of TMT internal social capital have significant positive impact on TMT behavioral integrity,(3)TMT behavioral integrity has significant positive impact on strategic decision making speed,(4) Different dimensions of TMT internal social capital have significant positive impact on strategic decision making speed.(5)TMT behavioral integrity as an intermediary variable played a brokering role in the relationship between TMT internal social capital and strategic decision making speed.Finally, conclusions of the research and its applications to reality, and the limitations in the research are summed up. Necessary future research directions are pointed out.
