A Study Of China’s Road To Industrialization From The Ecological Economic Thought Of Marx And Engels

Development of eco-economy is not only to protect the human living environment, but also to build harmonious society. Though ecological and economic issues were not studied directly or systematically by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, the eco-economy thoughts was abundantly blended in their works. In order to deeply understand the relationship between human economic activities and natural ecological and firmly take the road of new industrialization with Chinese characteristics, it is necessary for us to do research on eco-economy thoughts of Marx and Engels. The purpose of this article is to clarify the ecological economic thoughts of Marx and Engels through reading their works, and to analyze the changes in contemporary Chinese road to industrialization. Finally, an expected conclusion will be drawn.The introduction part briefly illustrates the background and significance of the research for this topic. On this basis of comprehensive and systematical reviewing the recent research progress about Marx and Engels’ ecological economic thoughts in China and abroad and the development path of China’s industrialization, the emphases and difficulties of research contents and innovation points are proposed in this paper.The first part mainly focuses on the historical background and the theoretical basis of ecological economic thoughts of Marx and Engels. More emphasis on the contents of ecological economic thoughts of Marx and Engels has been made in this part——the harmony between man and nature, material transformation, natural and scientific productivity and so on.The second part talks about the change of industrialization from our country’s being founded in1949to new industrialization road’s being put forward in2002. From the year1949to1978, it can be called as the traditional path of industrialization period before reform and opening up; From the year1978to2002, it can be called as the transition period from the traditional path of industrialization to new industrialization road. The ecological economic thoughts of Marx and Engels will be applied to analyze the achievements and imperfectness of our traditional path of industrialization, which can be a prediction for the historical inevitability of taking a new road to industrialization.The third part discusses a new industrialization road in China. The connotation and characteristics of a new industrialization road, the necessity and feasibility of taking a new road to industrialization, and the internal relation between new road to industrialization and Marx and Engels’ ecological economic thoughts are mainly involved in this part.The fourth part mainly analyzes the plight of taking a new road to industrialization in recent China. Besides, combining the Marx and Engels’ ecological economic thoughts, a series of more meaningful countermeasures have been put forward.In conclusion part, the main points of this article briefly summarized. The fact that taking a new road to industrialization must adhere to and develop Marx and Engels’ ecological economy thoughts is been emphasized. Meanwhile, the problems which need to be studied further have been pointed out.
