Empirical Analysis On Efficiency And Total-factor Productivity Of Chinese Logistics Enterprises

Due to the reform and opening up policy, Chinese economic development has come to the level in a good state. Stable and healthy development of the economy has also led to the advancement of the logistics industry. Currently, the logistics industry is playing an increasingly important role in our society and economy. However, compared with Western countries, productivity of Chinese logistics industry is still lower, which reflects in the following aspects rhigher operating costs, lower degree of standardization of the market, management lags behind. Improving the efficiency level of Chinese logistics industry, is not only beneficial for the promotion of the logistics, but also can promote Chinese economic development.This paper uses Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Interpretive Structural Model (ISM) to analysis45logistics companies’productivity and infuencing factors. First, As an example of the2013year, using DEA-CCR model to evaluate the productivity of logistics enterprises, which shows that there is no apparent scale economic characteristics; then, according to the DEA-BCC model and DEA-Window Analysis to study the productivity of spatial and temporal differences in the characteristics of logistics enterprises,from the horizontal and Longitudinal two dimensions for2007-2013, and the results show that the productivity of logistics enterprises have obvious characteristics of individual differences, different types of logistics enterprises affected by the internal and external environmental is different; then, the use DEA-Malmquist productivity index to analyse total factor productivity and changing trends in the sample period, through the decomposition of Malmquist Index positioning drive efficiency of logistics enterprises dominant factor changes, and analyzes the root reason of the change from the perspective of the internal environment and the external environment; and finally use ISM to build a hierarchical structure model of logistics productivity factors, and analyze the role of the hierarchy and the role of various factors in the path, refining the key factors, theoretical and logic analysis.we combine above research with the background and characteristics of the logistics industry in our country.This paper offers sonme suggestions to enhance the productivity of logistics enterprise, including:Our government should take measures to standardize and optimize the logistics market environment, to ensure that the logistics industry remain sustained and healthy development; logistics enterprises not only should pay attention to enhance their level of internal management, investment in human capital, but also should improve the level of technological innovation and accelerate the pace of information technology;the government and enterprises should cooperate with each other, continue to learn advanced technology and management level, and work together to improve the productivity.
