Because of the continuous expansion of business scale of Northern Heavy Industries, the traditional management mode and management idea has hindered the development of enterprises because of the continuous expansion of business scale.The key is to enhance the management level of enterprises incase NHI wants to gain competitive advantage andsustainable development in the international and domestic market. Thus NHI plans to take informatization as an opportunity, to carry out a comprehensive plan for enterprise resource.To optimize business processes through the construction of the ERP project,enhancing the comprehensive competitiveness of enterprises. But the implementation of ERP system is a high risk of systemic engineering for enterprise. So the key problem to be solved of this text is to how to avoid risk or reduce the hazard after risk to a minimum.This text first reviews the theory of risk management, and systematically elaborates risk management development course, and then introduced the characteristics of NHI, the characteristics of industry of NHI belongs to, and enterprise ERP project. Then make analysis on the ERP procession and main job during implementation process by checking list method, flow chart method, in order to provide guidance for the risk identification ERP in the project. The ERP Project Risks mainly come from four phrases of the project during the Risk Identification process. The four phrases are Project Starting Phrase, Project Planning Phrase, Project Implementation Phrase and Project Optimization and Acceptance Phrase. The risks during the Project Starting Phrase including Requirement Analysis Risk, Resources Supporting Risk, Social Environment Risk, Leading Cognitive Risk; the risks during the Project Planning Phrase including ERP software Selection Risk, Consulting Service Selection Risk, Project Organizing Risk and Project Planning Risk; the risks during the Project Implementation Phrase including Enterprise Strategic Culture Risk, Reform Management Risk, Cooperation Risk of three parties, Data Risk, Project Management Risk and System Security Risk; the risks during the Project Optimization and Acceptance Phrase including Re-development Risk,Project Delivery Risk, Implementation Result Evaluation Risk. And analysis the recognized risks and find out Risk Reaction Measures on the events which are above the low level risks according to analysis results.This text is of great significance in avoiding risk during the implementation process of ERP project in NHI, and also provides an important reference for risk management effectively for other enterprises of equipment manufacturing industry in the future in the process of implementing ERP.
