In the18th CPC national congress, it’s reported that we should take the implementation of innovation-driven development strategy, and take efforts to enhance the development of new power-driven innovation, and improve knowledge innovation system so that economic development depends more on the modern service industry and strategic emerging industries. The current existence of many enterprises have problem of lack industry innovation capacity and competition, by the analysis we can see their lack of knowledge base to support the capacity and competition. Fundamental technology has a close relationship with fundamental innovation, and fundamental innovation will lead related technologies updating and breakthrough, which led to the industrial cluster innovation. Knowledge base is a fundamental condition for the current innovation activities and an important factor for future innovation, the research of the industrial knowledge base and its innovation-driven effects has a theoretical significance in deepening the knowledge base. In practice, only depending on fundamental technology innovation is possible to accomplish the transition from follower to leader in the Chinese manufacturing industry, and the formation of industrial knowledge base has an important supporting role for the success of fundamental technology innovation.In this study, we use USPTO patent database to construct citing matrixes of technical fields and get the in-degree, out-degree, betweenness and closeness of degree centrality, effective size and constraint of structural holes in social network analysis, then use the entropy measure to identify the fundamental technologies in the citing network. Based on this, we identify fundamental technology in the semiconductor industry. Subsequent studies we get the phased evolution for the technical fields’ network, combining industrial applications of semiconductor technology, we analysis the influence of knowledge flow in formation of fundamental technology. Therefore, the semiconductor industry should encourage innovation, and strive to achieve breakthroughs in fundamental technologies, to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation. So we can grasp the forefront of technological development, and promote integration process, so as to enhance China’s semiconductor industry technical level. |
