Analysis Of Network Evolution And Motivation Of Interregional Knowledge Flow

Nowadays, the role of knowledge exchange and dissemination is as important as direct investment under the condition of the knowledge and technology driven economy. As the component of ascending national development, the flow of regional knowledge does not only means pure information sharing, but the important factor of promoting regional competitiveness and economic benefit. This research takes patent citation as the variable of interregional knowledge flow, and maps patent citation network by means of patent measurement and social network analysis in order to realize the visualization of knowledge flow.On the basis of the theory, empirical analysis of typical country in the special field of technology has been carried. Firstly, this paper builds up the patent citation network through assess of patent citation data in 50 states and District of Columbia in America in the field of biotechnology, and investigates the structure characteristics and evolution situation of knowledge flow network. Secondly, On the basis of related literature, this research summarizes the factors that influence interregional knowledge flow and gives an examination, so as to explore the issue of knowledge spread and sharing and to offer advice of regional innovation activities distribution.
