Research On The Development Of Urban Agriculture In Changchu

Urban agriculture is the inevitable outcome of the economic development to acertain degree, which is also the agricultural development path in the future. Itsdevelopment could not only improve the farmers’ income and considerable economicbenefits, improving urban living environment, maintaining ecological balance, givingthe people intuitive ecological benefit, but also would promote the urban and ruralintegration process, improve the duality structure, which is strategic significant.As the capital of Jilin province and the political, economic and cultural center,there are the objective requirement of developing the urban agriculture in Changchun,i.e. good location advantages, developed urban economy, advanced science andtechnology and abundant human resources. Compared with the developed coastalareas in China, Changchun is relatively late in urban agriculture development. But italso made some achievements, which formed preliminary scale of urban agriculturedevelopment in leisure agriculture, facilities agriculture, ecological agriculture,exhibition agriculture.This paper mainly includes four parts: the first part is based on the fundamentaltheory of the urban agriculture, including the concept, characteristics and function ofthe urban agriculture, etc. The second part studies on the successful experiences inurban agriculture at home and abroad, including Germany, Japan, the Netherlands,Singapore, Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Taiwan. The third part discusses the presentsituation of urban agriculture development in Changchun, finding out the problemsexisting in the development, including the contradiction in land use, low quality ofthe labor force, operating on a smaller scale, insufficient capital investment, lowscience and technology content, and the poor infrastructure; The last part givescountermeasures and suggestions, according to the deficiency of the urban agriculturein Changchun, which contains more government support, improving the system of land circulation, strengthening the staff training, establishing and improvinginvestment system in urban agriculture, etc.
