The Analysis Of Border Effect Of Import And Export Trade In China’s Opening-up Along Boundary

Since the policy of reform and opening-up carried out, our country gradually formed the opening pattern of multilevel and wide-range from the coast to along the river and along the border, from the east to the central and western regions. With the deepening of opening-up along border, the importance of opening-up along border is steadily on the increase, our country attaches great importance on it, the third plenary session of the18specially emphasize that we should to enlarge opening-up along border, we can see opening-up along border has becoming an indispensible part of opening to the outside world. But in the process of China’s opening-up along border carrying out, it isn’t difficult to find that the level of opening-up along border is general low, the import and export trade of China and its neighbors accounts for a small proportion in China’s foreign trade, and the gap of the coast and the border isn’t narrow. These questions have aroused the study of different level in educational circles; as the complicated geography situation around our country, the problem of border has caused the attention of academic circles, analyzing the border effect of import and export trade in China’s opening-up along border is of great significance to enhance the level of China’s opening-up along border.This paper applies the trade gravity model, examining the border effect of import and export trade in China’s opening-up along border. The result shows the shielding effect of the border is significant, domestic trade is much higher than the trade with surrounding countries, the border has much higher shielding strength in the export than in the import, and in the export the shielding effect is32times of in the import. After considering the infrastructure, the border effect of import and export trade reduces significantly, and the infrastructure makes the border effect of export trade decrease by87.3%, the infrastructure makes the border effect of import trade decrease by94.04%, obviously infrastructure construction can weaken the shielding effect of the border in China’s opening-up along border. Further, considering the border is a window in the trade of China and its neighbors, analyzing the medium effect of border in the import and export trade of China and its neighbors. Results show the medium effect of border isn’t strong in the import and export trade of China and its surrounding countries, the trade of China and its border on countries doesn’t obviously precede its without common border countries. Similarly after introducing the infrastructure the border effect nearly doesn’t change, in especial in the influence of infrastructure, in the trade of China and around countries whether they has the common border doesn’t influence the export and import apparently.Basing on the empirical analysis, in the paper we put forward some paths to reduce the shielding effect of the border by constructing infrastructure, innovating institutions and enhancing the communication between people. To develop the medium effect of border we can build the cross-border economic cooperation zone, border financial comprehensive reform pilot area and industrial parks. Through these paths the level of China’s opening-up along border will be improved.
