Beijing Electric Power Company, a provincial electric power Company subordinate to State Grid Company of China, takes charge of building and running Beijing power grid. Its main business is to provide all electricity customers of Beijing area with electric power. Besides, it assumes the important mission to guarantee safe, reliable electricity supply for head organs, such as Central Party and State Council, and various significant political and cultural exchange activities held in Beijing. With the dramatic development of power grid, we are challenged by increasingly-difficult tasks in facility maintenance and power grid production and operation as well as growing requirements for the ability to deal with emergent events and do rescue and relief work. The current situation of warehouse management and existing material storage pattern fail to meet the needs of corporation development and the requirements of the rapidly-developing projects respectively, so it’s imperative to enhance the ability to manage, coordinate, and balance material storage. The corporation needs to supply sound material support for Beijing power grid through scientific warehouse management system.The paper discusses the background and significance of the research and summarizes basic ERP theory and warehouse management theory. Besides, warehouse management network structure and management process of Beijing Electric Power Company are analyzed in the paper. On the basis of the analysis, the paper, aimed at the existing problems in warehouse management, proves the necessity and availability to implement ERP warehouse management system. Besides the research on warehouse management system of electric power material, the paper learns from ERP warehouse management system, avoids its weaknesses, promotes the process and informatization method of warehouse management, and conducts a research on the system structure design and main function modules of warehouse management system. Finally, the paper, through describing and assessing the actual implementation of ERP warehouse management system of electric power material and comparing with the method of traditional manual warehouse system in indicator, fully demonstrates the application value of this project for Beijing Electric Power Corporation on warehouse management.
