In the late 20th century, the wave of electricity market’s reform was generated across the world. The main content of this reform is to break the monopoly of power market and introduce competition mechanisms.And the purpose is to promote productivity and the rational allocation of resources. So far, the electricity market’s reform has made great achievements. However, it is also hard to avoid the risk for a new system. In order to make the reform of electric market implement successfully, the electric power market healthy development, the resources have optimal allocation in our country,we should study the bidding behavior of electric power market, which has a great practical significance.In this paper, the main research on the bidding behavior of electric power market is as follows:Multi-agent system is choosen to simulate the bidding behavior of electric power market by reading and analysing a large number of relevant literature both at home and abroad.The relevant theories of Power market is studied which mainly includes the definition, elements, trading patterns and bidding mechanism of electricity market. And the relationship of the cost and profit of power suppliers is analyzed in the electricity market.In this paper, the genetic algorithm is used as the main computing algorithm of multi-agent model. And the research of the genetic algorithm, software realization and simulation analysis is done to ensure the algorithm accurate and reliable.Based on multi-agent method, two suppliers’s market bidding model is established by selecting two classical market model (Cournot’s model and Bertrand’s model). The bidding behavior is simulated by using C++ software. Through theoretical analysis and simulation results, the multi-agent system is proved to be effective and practical in this paper.Another electricity market bidding model is established based on the multi-agent method by expanding the two suppliers to multiple suppliers. The bidding behavior under different demands (1000MW,3150MW,3200MW,5700MW) of electric power market is simulated,analysed, based on which we draw the conclusion in PAB bidding mechanism and MCP bidding mechanis. At the same time, under the same demand, the bidding behavior is compared and analyzed in the MCP mechanism and in the PAB mechanism of electricity market.
