Along with the rapid development of the grid, it is the inevitable trend that traditional substations have been renovating integrated automation substations. As these projects have the characteristics of the large-scale, long period, difficult construction and security risks, it is very necessary to conduct the research on risk management and control of substation integrated automatic renovation.According to scientific risk management theories, the author analyzes and selects several methods and tools that are used in risk identification, estimation, evaluation of substation integrated automatic renovation. Frequently-used methods of risk identification include Brainstorming, Flow chart and Risk checklist. Risk estimation adopts Subjective scoring method and Probability estimation method. Fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, AHP and LEC risk assessment method are used in evaluating risk degree. In accordance with risk planning theory, the project management team draws up the risk management planning of MD substation renovation project integrated automation. This paper analyzes and identifies common risk factors and drafts risk identification table on the basis of risk identification methods in the conduction process. There are 6 risk factors in the first level and 24 risk factors in the secondary level. It has built the risk evaluation system, which includes the overall risk of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model for estimating the whole risk degree of substation automatic renovation, and the optimized LEC for evaluating the secondary risk degree. Combined With MD substation automatic renovation, there are 13 secondary slight risks,7 secondary common risks,3 secondary significant risks,1 secondary risk of high degree. But the whole risk coefficient is 0.581, the risk degree is medium and controllable. In the end of the paper, it proposes some risk response measures and monitoring model of MD substation automatic renovation project. This research is beneficial to implement substation automatic renovation project and is helpful to achieve the expected targets. It will provide some references for other electricity renovation projects.
